Green Preschools:  Planting the Seeds of Sustainability

The Jewish-Arab Pre-K for children ages 3 – 5, is unique in Be'er Sheva's educational landscape.  

 

It's bilingual, multicultural and environmentally friendly. 

 

Hagar has equipped it with lush, irrigated gardens where children learn to live with nature. Kindergarten staff receive special training in environmental practices, gardening and multiculturalism.

 

Parents come together to help with irrigation and pruning, while planting the seeds of an Arab-Jewish educational community. The Pre-K is a vital source of recruitment for the bilingual elementary school. 

 

Above all, it's teaching a generation of preschoolers that the society we live in and the world we inhabit are one.
